Your dentist reviews relevant medical history, medications and previous procedures, and may assess facial features and movement.
Suitability and choices
Where appropriate, discuss available options, their limitations and alternatives, including no treatment. Recommendations depend on your individual assessment.
Risks, recovery and questions
Discuss relevant common and serious risks, expected recovery, possible follow-up care and what to do if concerns arise.
Making an informed decision
Cosmetic procedures are not suitable for everyone and cannot guarantee a particular appearance. Results vary between people and may differ from your expectations.
Depending on the procedure, risks may include discomfort, swelling, bruising, asymmetry, infection and other complications. Some complications can be serious or require further treatment. Recovery and aftercare vary according to the procedure and your individual circumstances. Your practitioner will discuss recovery requirements and possible effects on work or daily activities before you decide whether to proceed.
